Laceby Parish

Laceby is an attractive village about three miles from the Grimsby boundary, and on the edge of the Lincolnshire Wolds It has a mix of housing including a new estate on the northern boundary.

The population is 3,300. Of those 6% are under 4 years old, 13 % between 5-15  62% 16-64 and 19% 65 +

St Margaret’s Church is in the centre of the village. It is a lively church two services, well attended, are held each Sunday as well as some week day worship. Coffee and chat on a Thursday attracts a wide group of people many not regular church goers

The Annual Garden Party on the second Saturday in June is a highlight in the village calendar and very well supported by the parish.

The Autumn Craft Fair is held in the church, and concerts during the winter months.

There are a range of shops in the village itself, and Morrison’s Superstore is a mile and a half outside the village.

A pub/restaurant, two tea shop/cafes and a lively British Legion give a choice of places to eat and drink.

There is a Primary School in the village, and mostly children move on from there to Healing for secondary education. In addition St Margaret’s pre-school and a Mother’s and toddlers group run from the church hall.  The village is fortunate to have a wide range of uniformed organisations  thanks to many dedicated leaders.

A Doctor’s surgery and chemist are both in the village; Grimsby Hospital is about four miles away.

Cloverdale Residential home has been part of the village for many years and cares for many enabling them to remain within the village community.

Laceby is renowned for being a friendly village, conveniently situated near to Grimsby and the industry on the Humber Bank; it has become a popular place to live and has a good mix of housing, schooling and facilities.
